With "Blik op de Dom" (a play on words meaning both "A View of the Dom" and "Dom Tower Tin"), you can bring a touch of Utrecht into your kitchen—in the shape of the city’s iconic Dom Tower.
A small ring attached to the spire allows the baking tin to be hung up, so that "Blik op de Dom" can also serve as a decorative wall piece.

– The "Blik op de Dom" cake tin is specially designed for baked goods, but it can also be used for ice cream cakes or puddings.

For this tin, you should plan for approximately 450 grams of ingredients for recipes that require rising.

"Blik op de Dom" is crafted from aluminized steel with a non-stick silicone coating. Despite this coating, it is advisable to grease the tin before use to ensure the intricate details—such as the small windows—come out clearly. For the best results, we recommend greasing it with butter and lightly dusting it with flour. The more you use the tin, the better the cakes will release; this is due to a process known as "seasoning" (or "baking-in"). The product label provides a few tips for using the baking pan:

–    Wash thoroughly before first use
–    Grease well before use
–    Wash with water only, no soap (this allows the pan to build up an extra layer of seasoning/grease)
–    Dry thoroughly (to prevent corrosion)
–    Use wooden or nylon utensils (to protect the non-stick coating)
–    Do not scrub or scratch (to protect the non-stick coating)
–    Do not use over an open flame (this will burn the coating)
–    Do not use in the microwave (also not good for the microwave itself)
–    Do not put in the dishwasher (doing so will soon make it difficult to remove the cake from the pan)
–    Do not use in an oven at temperatures above 200°C (this damages the coating)

The cake pan is made of aluminized steel with a non-stick coating.
